    Default Emblematic Tie Sources

    Hi all,

I'm a big fan of emblematic ties and have really enjoyed reading through the threads where folks shared pictures of their collection.

I was searching for a thread that offered a list of sources for emblematics and couldn't find one. Does anyone have info to share beyond BB, Vineyard Vines, LE? Affordable options especially appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Thanks, PJC.

I should add that if folks have Marshalls or Filene's Basement near them, I noticed this week that both have a selection of BB emblematics ($19) as well as some VV ones ($19 at Marshalls, $29 at Filene's Basement). The BBs are "irregulars," although I couldn't detect anything wrong with them.

HF had some. Since their outlets have closed, I'm not aware of where they're available other than maybe the website.

There are large batches of BB ties labeled "irregular" at FB, indeed, and I also can't see anything wrong with them. A good deal at $19.99 a pop, if you ask me. Haven't seen any emblematics, though. Mostly embroidered foulards.

I saw a bunch of these BB irregulars here in DC over the weekend. I looked at them pretty closely and the only thing that I could find wrong with them was that some of the stitching was a tad off on the narrow part of the tie--the part that would be completely hidden once the tie was tied.

I'm sure that most of you know this already, but a lot of those BB irregulars are at least ten years old, from the Marks & Spencer days. Look on the label; if the B's are looped on the bottom, they're old.

In terms of emblematics, I should also mention that Wm. Fox & Co. in DC has some real beauties.

Prices are at about the Ben Silver level. Ties are very, very nice.

If I were shopping from a distance, I'd call or email and ask if they could snap a few digital pics and beam them to me.

I can't resist! In addition to our clothing wing- Winston Tailors - we have a small tie company- Chipp2. We make ties for companies, clubs, etc.( My web site- www.chipp2.com- pictures the 90 breeds of dogs that we make.) When we were a "retailer" we had carved a niche making "off beat" emblematic ties. We still get calls for some of our well known designs. ( I copyrighted many because I thought they were so cleaver that I was sure a large manufacturer would "pirate" them. No one ever tired. Ah, the ego! ) Any one who would like one of the old flyers can give me a call or send me their address.

Wow - I, for one, didn't know that. I do believe most of the BB ties I've picked up from Marshalls and the do have looped Bs, but I'll check tonight.

    Interesting info - thank you.

I purchased a beagle tie from Chipp2, and have one or two Chipp originals, and can not say enough about the quality for the price of the dog emblematics - you should get one even if you don't have a dog!

Printed emblematics are often more "affordable," so as per the OP's request, here's a source:
    http://www.woodsofshropshire.co.uk/s...s/country-ties

I personally own a couple; they're not bad at all for the price.

Pakeman, Catto & Carter also has some in the "woven ties" section of its website (it has woven emblematics, too), but they're all pricier than what Wood's has on offer.

My pleasure. FYI, I think the only current items that BB sells that use the underside loops today are the BB watches.
