Thanks, buddy. I knew I needed to leave academia. Medicine seemed like a smart choice. However, had I gone the MD route, I would have finished residency a bit shy of 50 years of age. Bad investment of time and money. So, physician assistant is the next best thing -- very good money, most of the responsibilities of a MD without so much fuss. The juice just wasn't worth the squeeze for me.
