A great example of "Timeless Style"

I carry my car fob and a slim credit card case along with a few dollars in my front pockets.

Unfortunately the basting stitches were done on the outside of the pocket in a contrasting color to the coat. This is my first sport coat with patch pockets.

I have just purchased a new sport coat with patch pockets. I never use the pockets of my flap pocket sport coats. Should I sew shut the patch pockets to preserve the shape / lines of the the coat?
