Yeah I took a quick look and most of them are like work shirts that I would have worn years ago at Home Depot. What's interesting is when we would have a "manager's walk" I would see more of a "trad style" which I have slowly adopted now. Also vintage LL Bean is better than the current.
I ended up finding a pair of 100% cotton pants, 38x30, gray, Polo Ralph Lauren, for $45. Not everything I wanted and I prefer the quality of O'Connell's and Made in USA deal as well. I do like these and I am going to break them in and use them as my main work pants. By comparison, I was wearing...
I am working on inserting more color into my wardrobe but that is actually what I like about gray/grey. I love gray cloudy skies too (without torrential rain) on a November Sunday.
Sorry to ignore your previous post there. I actually found a pair a little less expensive on eBay so I am going to try them. If they don't work out, I will try the Orvis Ultimate ones. The ratings look mixed for something that is over $100 so I was hesitant to pull the trigger. I likely will buy...
Hmm... you might have found a match for me for the time being. I don't like the fact that it is cotton/stretch mix and would prefer 100% cotton twill like O'Connell's (I don't hate stretch but I have them on some casual pants already) but for something I want to experience with, this may work...
This seems to be impossible and keep in mind I am not looking for wool or cotton gabardine. I am looking for 100% cotton twill chinos. I almost went the route of having them custom made by Gitman ($180) but now the option for that leads to a 404 page.
I see Ralph Lauren has them in a slim fit...
Agreed and often I prefer a relaxed fit however if say (and I need to lose weight) I wear a 36 relaxed, I would size up and go with a 38 classic fit or straight fit.
I personally prefer the hook and eye closure (and I may have mentioned that before) so I would rather pay $10 more for that ($135 vs. $125 for JD) with O'Connell's vs. JD.
I am curious though and this is to @fred johnson... How was the hemming on the pants you ordered from JD? If you didn't...
Yeah, they are now a hard pass for me. I was willing to possibly give them another chance but I will stick with O'Connell's and ONLY O'Connell's going forward. Also, JD only has plain old beige light khaki. They used to have other colors going back.
How are the new Jack Donnelly pants? I ordered them back when they were made in Georgia and I believe they are now made in Texas?
@yoshi1995 - I am going to second @David J. Cooper's recommendation for Cordings if you want to support British manufacturing and I am the same way with my "American...
So I recently re-watched two movies. The first is a cheap Charles Bronson action flick called Murphy's Law. It's not great but it could certainly be worse. My late grandmother LOVED Charles Bronson, so I guess that's where some of my appreciation of him comes from.
The second is an 80s comedy...
