    Art Deco!

Guardians of Traffic and the inspiration for the new name of the Cleveland Indians https://clevelandmagazine.com/in-the-cle/articles/the-guardians-of-traffic There is actually a lot of, very local, debate as to whether ‘Traffic’ or ‘Transportation’ is their original and proper name.

    Art Deco!

^ Very nice! Some more from Cleveland, the old coastguard station. More Art Moderne, but it looks like the thread isn’t being too zealous over the Moderne/ Deco/ Nouveau difference.

Do casual chinos even go with sneakers?

Adidas Gazelles/ Stan Smith/ Forest Hills, NB 974/1400/ 991 and any number of the old-school Nikes all look perfectly fine with khakis. The only ‘rule’ I have is that trimmer profile sneaker needs to go with the trimmer cut khakis.

    The Gawd-I'm-Old Nostalgia Thread

I’m not sure if these ever made it to the UK and just a little before my time anyway. However, this was a ritual every time new shoes were needed as a kid. The irony for me is that my biggest shoe-fitting challenge was and still is, my high arches. The one thing the machine couldn’t measure for!

    J. Press shocker

I just received some J Press OCBDs, with the flap pocket. Interestingly, they came wrapped in BB-logo'd paper. The name doesn't appear, but the hanging sheep logo and '1818' do. I thought the Garland factory had closed, but maybe they're doing contract manufacturing?

A much nicer Lancia/ Zagato collaboration. The Fulvia Zagato.

    The Vintage Motor Thread

Is early 90s vintage? I guess nowadays it pretty much is. Lancia Hyena. Only ever a couple of dozen made, as they were an expensive proposition. First off, you had to buy a Delta Integrale EVO II, then ship it off to Zagato, who would tear it down to bare bones and put it in this new body...

    The Vintage Motor Thread

Fabulous car (it’s a Lancia, after all) however, something just feels a little off about it and I’ve never seen that color before. I think it may be one of the kit-car replicas.

    The Vintage Motor Thread

Lancia made some of the most wonderful cars, right up to the Delta Integrale. Real shame what happened to the marque.

    Amazon practices

My biggest issue with Amazon is that they co-mingle stock at their distribution centers. Meaning that the same item with the same UPC/ barcode gets put in the same bin at the warehouse, no matter who it originates from. So, you could order from an authorized seller on Amazon marketplace, maybe...

    What hat to wear??

Some folks can pull off a wide-brimmed hat and some can’t. I’m one of those who can’t either.

Does this striping have a name?

There’s a lot of subjectivity and also flat out wrong, descriptions of stripes out there in #meanswear world. To learn what’s what, IMO you can’t do better than go to O’Connell’s website and search ‘University, Bengal, Butcher, Tape and Candy’ to see the differences correctly illustrated.

Where do you buy your trad threads if you live in Europe?

+1 for John Simons. Wonderful store with wonderful people. The only thing you really can’t get there reliably are worsted or flannel suits. J Press and O’Connell’s, in that order, are my recommendations there.
