What's the connection between preppy style and A Clockwork Orange? ;)

Don't know if it the same 'Villager', but there was a line of conservative, attractive women's dresses by that name that were popular in the MidWest in the 1970s.

In Virginia in the 1960s lots of high school girls wore Villager, usually a wool jumper or skirt with a Liberty Lawn blouse and completing the uniform with Weejuns, Pappagallo flats, or Etienne Aigner loafers. My mother loved the look and adopted it.

Nice find. In the 60s, Kubrick cultivated a preppy on a bender look.

(In the 70s, more bender less preppy).
