I've been thinning for over 20 years, I try to learn to love it that's all I can do.

Your choices are basically two: 1) You can learn to love it and just live with your hair the way it is or 2) spray paint the bald spot with a color approximately that of your hair. In my case, I just keep it cut very short and live with it. Mrs Eagle seems to love the severe look it gives me. ;)

How do you guys deal with your bald spot(s)? As much as I keep combing and brushing my hair after I towel dry it getting out the shower, I put a small amount of mousse and a bit of spray and try to style it through, I keep seeing my spots. It's tough getting older and going into my upper 40's...

The thing I hate is when it's a windy day and my hair falls all over the place, it's like I'm wearing a hairpiece.

I think your membership is safe considering the wind storms that you guys see from time to time. ;-) Tom

Slackers of the world unite! If I get caught outside on a windy day, I comb it a 2nd time. You won't kick me out of club slack, will you?

    grooming Combing my hair?

I feel like a complete slacker after reading this thread. I shampoo mine in the shower (every day), part and comb it dripping wet and forget about it until the next morning when I hit the shower again. It just sort of dries and stays in place like that, and mine is 70% gray and worn slightly...

I tried 1500 units of Biotin, and my hair started growing back. Too bad it messed up my thyroid on annual tests. Maybe because of my age--65. other supplements also mess up my diastolic. Can't win for losing.

I'm just trying to comb it as much so I don't see my bald spot but I can't help that.

I don't have height. But I do have hair. Lots of it. And it starts getting pretty unmanageable after 3 weeks or so post-cut. I can live with that. I find that if I'm getting sufficient amounts of exercise, hair grows faster. Maybe I should create a hair tonic and and informercial -- use this...

^^ I had always heard that as a gentleman's hair thins out, it is best to opt for a shorter cut. Given my penchant for shorter hair, it has always worked for me. An added advantage to shorter hair is less effort is required to keep it in place throughout one's day. ;)

How does one style their hair when they have thinning hair? I'm 45 years old and have had hair loss for many years and I do understand that hair loss is in the genes so what does one use?

    grooming Haircuts- - how often?

Agreed. I still remember being asked for the first time (in the Army) "when does a good soldier need a haircut?" I started to answer with the standards and was immediately rebuked and told "a good soldier never needs a haircut." When I used a barber, I went at least every 4 weeks. But I also...

    grooming Haircuts- - how often?

I used to go every 4-6 weeks. I have let my hair grow and my stylist of 38 years has lost his touch but not my loyalty. I go now when it is longer than I want so he can’t screw it up too much. I have not had luck finding anyone else. When I go to Brasil it is easy as the man who cuts my hair...

    grooming Haircuts- - how often?

LOL. A properly groomed gentleman never needs a haircut.... that is why I'm back in the barber's chair every three to four weeks, the actual length of time between cuts being determined more by my gut than my eye...and of course by Mrs Eagle's random comments! ;)

I get my haircuts about every 4-6 weeks and he does a pretty good job at it.

I try to go every four weeks. Now I use a place that sets appointments - when I was using the small private shop nearer my house he started taking frequent vacations and when he was there you had to be in the door by 2pm or he’d send you away. Next month I’ll be in London and my appointment at...

    grooming Haircuts- - how often?

Our small town (DuBois), with about 7,000 residents only has about six barbers, and all women! Though very follicle challenged, I visit one of the six every four to six weeks. They're all so nice and personable and nice and personable!

    grooming Haircuts- - how often?

Years ago I paid someone to 0 clip my hair every few weeks. I bought my own clippers and went with that for a year or so. Now it just seems easier to use a razor in the shower. At 63 I still would have a full head of thin wispy hair but would rather be bald. I know this because I occasionally...
