I've definitely sent Alden shoes that were in worse wear (though they were cleaner, and polished), and had no problem getting them to take my money to re-craft them.

Final result: Alden declined to repair the shoes citing a weak insole as the reason for refusal. After waiting a few weeks I decided to send them to B. Nelson. They repaired them and shipped them back to me in roughly two weeks. Couldn’t be happier with the results given the condition I sent them in. I think they almost look better fixed up with heavy “patina” then they did new. All in all very pleased and happy to have the shoes back on my feet.
