I did a quick research on which product to use for my AE black shell.
people are saying don't use Cream on shell since it may create bumps or something like that.
But then AE sells Cordovan Cream..I'm looking for something more affordable than Saphir.
Would it be ok to go with AE cordovan cream?
Or just stick with wax polish (i use it for calf leather) ?

The AE cream should be fine, but come on! It’s not that much more and a jar will last you a year.

That's true but i only have one pair of black shell and don't plan on buying more Black shell. so almost $30 polish is not really worth it haha
Does AE cream also provide water proof?

I use Kiwi polish and Lexol conditioner (once every several years) on my black Alden’s and they do just fine.

Really.

I've found that every neutral shoe cream I've tried works equally well on shell cordovan. Venetian, Meltonian, Avel, Collonil (I think AE is also rebranded Collonil), and on and on work great. Just don't apply too much as that can cause a hazy film of excess product to develop.

I've used the AE Cordovan Cream and had no complaints with it. Over the past few years I've been using pretty much only Venetian Cream. I get it in the pint sized can. ;)
