When we pick up clothes at the dry cleaners, there is a caution printed on some of those bags cautioning not to store your garments in the plastic bags. I think the real danger of storing clothes in plastic bags, sealed or otherwise, is trapping moisture in the bag with what you put in the bag and prehaps the heat that gets trapped in the bag. As others have suggested, use canvas!.

I haven't had any problems with plastic bags. I put some desiccants inside to make sure any moisture is absorbed.
