Hi there—

Shopping for a new wallet. In the past my tastes have been more trad but now I am embracing some of the more modern elements. I would like a new wallet but before dropping that kind of coin, am interested in others experience in how they hold up to daily use over years....

Any thoughts?

If real, very well made. Knock-offs abound tho, so be careful.

Something like this is nice:

Even so, it still has a logo (which in general I disfavor), and it may be subject to copying. I certainly wouldn't consider any item with the standard logo - is it real or is it fake? As for the actual question - how do they hold up? No personal experience but the real stuff probably wears fairly well and probably has a decent warranty. Lately I have been buying Tumi wallets (granted a big step down in price) - they have held up well.

I’m almost certain excellent quality and durability can be had for less as long as you keep away from fashion brands.

I’m sure. I’m not dead set on a LV wallet but I want something with enough card and bill space that’s reasonable low profile and will wear well, and will go with everything or be distinctive enough that it doesn’t need to . Other option is a shell Cordovan wallet but I haven’t been thrilled with what I can find and put my hands on.

I have a Montblanc wallet that's slim and distinctive. Montblanc wallets are not cheap but might fit the bill, and while they do have the logo on the front, they are still more understated than Louis Vuitton wallets.
Neiman Marcus has a nice selection of wallets you might want to check out.

Have you checked out the cordovan offerings from Ashland Leather?

I have but didn’t see one that had the right combination of slots —and it’s hard to not be able to put your hands on one.

Well now I’m curious. What kind of combination are you looking for? Someone on here might have an idea.
