To start the year, we released 8 new shirts. You can see them here. For the next two days, you can opt into the IPR (initial production run) and save. IPR's help us be more efficient in our factory. The fabrics come from Portugal and we make the shirt in our East Rutherford, NJ factory. We can do a lot for you in terms of fit. If you have any questions, please reach out to me here. Thanks.

This week we're releasing a Canvas Selvedge Chino in Tan and Navy under our IPR (Initial Production Run) offer. The fabric is 10 oz., from Japan. We make the chino in our East Rutherford, NJ factory.

We see this pant for men who want a more rugged alternative to a khaki, in a style more refined than workwear. We recently read that canvas was used for the first jeans ever made - it was a durable workwear fabric way back when - then denim was developed and took over for jeans. You can see more photos of it here. If you have any fit or product questions, please ask.

What are your thoughts on Thermal Waffle shirts? They're a new product for us, first released in October and re-released in different colors this week. Do you like them or not - and why? What types or designs are better than others, etc?

In the next few months we'll decide if Thermal Waffle will return in Fall 2019, we're looking for as much feedback as possible.

If someone told us we could offer only one type of shirting fabric, Oxford would be our choice. It matches up effortlessly to jeans, transitions between professional and casual, and holds a shape that compliments the body.

For the first time, we're offering our favorite Oxford shirts in three dark colors: Olive, Black, and Navy. This all-cotton Oxford is woven in Portugal, and the shirts are made in our East Rutherford, NJ factory. https://toddshelton.com/shirts

Dark colors add an acceptable edge that lighter colors can't. A dark Oxford and a dark jean is a good choice for dinner parties, restaurants, concerts, weekends with the guys, etc. Cool and easy.

If you had to choose one type of button-up shirt fabric to wear for the rest of your life, which would it be? Oxford, poplin, chambray, twill or something else.

Oxford fabric was originally made in Scotland in the 1800's. It was named after Oxford University. Story goes...British Polo players started to favor the fabric for its breathable qualities, but they wanted to stop their collars from flapping in the wind, so they put a button on the shirt body to hold the collar down - and that's how the button-down collar came to be. That information came from this article.

We just released a denim jacket. A few things we did different...

    1) No chest pockets or flaps to reduce visual clutter and bulk, instead we added two deep interior pockets.
    2) We used a combination of tonal and contrast stitching to keep the dna of a denim jacket, without a dominant workwear feel.
    3) We stopped the buttons at chest and made the collar smaller, this creates a lapel effect, depending on where you button and if you raise the collar or not.
    4) We made it in a 14 oz stretch (2%) selvedge which allows for good elbow and back shoulder movement. Red selvedge ID runs up the center back seam.

It's at IPR prices right now: https://toddshelton.com/jeans/selvedge-denim-jean-jacket

Let us know what you think about the design.

We just released a new jean in 14 oz selvedge stretch denim. This is a good jean for a guy who wants a jean that doesn't look like a stretch jean, but wants the comfort of stretch. This jean looks like hardcore denim, but has a bit of give and recovery. We released it in Dark and Raw.

Here in darks, good for the office: https://toddshelton.com/jeans/pro-stretch-darks-selvedge-jean
Here in raw, good for the raw guys who want more comfort out of the box: https://toddshelton.com/jeans/pro-stretch-raw-selvedge-jean

If you haven't looked into what we do, our specialty is fit. Working with customers to find the right combination of fit options. Then deliver that fit consistently. Don't let our fits overwhelm you, the fits will help you, and we'll help you navigate them.

We just released three tonal stitching jeans. One of the jeans is on sale now for $164 for the next 12 days. You can see them here. These are good jeans for a guy that has more contemporary, modern-leaning style.

I know we have lots of fit options, don't let that overwhelm you because you'll benefit from the options. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.
