Let's say you've been busted for selling pot. As is often the case, the cops make you a deal: You work with us on busting someone else, we'll work with you on getting your charges to go away. In this case, the alleged dealer had to...go to a gas station and buy fake pot. Didn't have to rat out a friend, didn't have to go to a drug den filled with gun-toting addicts and dealers, didn't have to be accused of being a turncoat. He must've thought he'd died and gone to snitch heaven: http://www.illinoiscourts.gov/Opinions/AppellateCourt/2015/4thDistrict/4130652.pdf

This is par for the course.Google Solomon Dwek.He ran a $400,000,000 Ponzi scheme, and the Feds let him run around trying to bribe municipal officials. Many of the people he entrapped were sentenced to serve longer times than Dwek.

To a point. What I don't understand with this one is, why didn't they just enlist an Explorer scout or a janitor or a secretary or a college student or even an undercover cop--anybody--to just go in and buy the stuff? It's not like you have to be a drug dealer to buy synthetic marijuana that's being sold over the counter in a gas station. You're right in that they always try to flip folks in an attempt to get bigger fish, but in this case, they didn't have to flip anyone, given that the store was selling the stuff to anyone with cash in hand.
