Imperial Tailor has a great location in an historic building near Red Square. Red Square has nothing to do with Communism, but the Russian word for “beautiful” is translated as “red”.

The tailors have a large clientele including many diplomats from Russia and all the former Russian republics. They have over 15 locations throughout Russia.
AskAndy Member iLarry, who graciously guided us to the shop.
They know how to take care of their customers here! Tea, snacks and homemade dumplings!
The shop is huge and beautifully furnished like a British club.
The resident “guru”/Doctor who can do pressure-points to help relax their customers!
Jimmy and the vast selection of shoes on top of their grand piano!
Sammy and Jimmy and iLarry and me!
Sammy shows me the collection of the finest fabrics in he world.
And I found the real “Andy”!
The brothers four! Jimmy, Sammy, me and Andy.
Brilliant marketing! Every customer gets a bag of rice! the customer is happy with his custom clothing and the customer’s wife is happy with a gift.
In St. Petersburg I met with Rocky who independently owns the Imperial Tailor franchise here.

Smaller shop than Moscow, but perfectly appointed with a colorful (but tasteful) interior to ward off the gray of Russian winters!
I’ve been measured by many and the best, but Rocky is not only an excellent tailor, he’s a visionary. He took many measurements and photos and during the experience asked questions and made some excellent “artistic” suggestions!
Like – raise the jacket length slightly, a more suppressed waist, narrower shoulders, etc. Great ideas!
And the choice was a lightweight blue summer fabric with a “wild” lining. Plus I also, with Rocky’s help opted for a different color on the button hole stitching!
